First, we got to be a part of the awesome “Yours Truly” JCPenney campaign seen nationally throughout prime time slots. You can view the commercial we did with them here.

We also got to fly out to Portland to be a part of a very cool recording project they’re working on where we covered a song of another Marmoset artist named Sean Flynn. In other news, we have just released another song from our upcoming album Californian in the form of a stop motion music video. Thanks to our good friend and director, Tyler Faires (tylerfaires.com), you can trip out to the tune of “Don’t Worry”, our most chill/romantic song on the upcoming record. Enjoy!

Its been too long. I’ve had a crazy couple of months, which is why you haven’t heard from me. During our time apart I’m happy to say that we have finished our brand new single (soon to be released so keep checking in), and, even more exciting, I am now a proud father of a baby boy! His name is Royal Thurston Jensen and he’s amazing. Needless to say, its been a great couple of months and a VERY BUSY couple of months. AND, I’m happy and excited to “get back at it”. The new record is coming along better than I could have imagined, more songs are being mixed, and before you know it our album will be in your hands! Until then, please keep coming back here to get updates on everything to do with the new record, including some videos that should be worked on soon.

We just got back from Marmoset Music’s Musicfest NW party up in Portland, OR. Those Marmoset guys are awesome. We love hanging out with them and had a great time playing again. It was a day filled with many great bands, some of my favorites include Pure Bathing Culture, Pearly Gate Music, and Houndstooth (if you haven’t heard these bands go check em out). Can’t wait til next year! In other news, we got a nice article written today for Filter Magaine’s “Discovering the Undiscovered” go check it out  here  and be sure to tell your pals about it! And finally, in recording news, the boys and I spent all last week knocking out 5 of the 11 tracks for the new record! Its coming along swimmingly and we can’t wait to show you the final product! Today we are the “Fresh Pick” for an awesome website called Daily Unsigned. These people basically do reviews and work their butts off to bring you new/unknown music. Last but not least, we got asked by one of our fantastic licensing companies, With Etiquette, to be a part of a great short-film contest called “Big Shorts” where film makers use our song, Building Houses, to inspire their work. In other news, we got to play with and meet a huge inspiration of mine recently, the great Lucinda Williams! It was a alot of fun, she was incredibly nice and cool to hang out with. Also, our recording has been going swimmingly and the guys are planning to come to town later this month to wrap things up. We can’t wait to show you new tracks, you’re gonna love them!

I just got out of the studio last night after a nice long session adding to the noise. This record is being recorded a little differently than previous due to the rest of the band living 7 hrs away. Basically, I’m trying to get as much done as I can with guitars, keys, and other little things, before the guys (Zach, Ethan, and Chandler) come to record their drums, lead guitars, and bass. Its definitely making things interesting, as I would normally want drums and bass first, but thus far I’m happy with the success we’re having. Layers are starting to develop on 7 of the songs now and counting! I don’t want to give away too much on what the record will sound like, but since people have been asking, I will say that some of the inspiration for this album include: Beach Boys- Pet Sounds, The Kinks- Lola Versus Powerman and the Moneygoround Part I, Neil Young- On the Beach, and Wes Anderson. Bottom line, this is going to be fun.
