Refresh Time

Hey folks, it's been a while! We've been hard at work on our new record, "Memos" which you should be hearing blips and blurbs of very soon. Along with this brand new record coming out, all kinds of other things are happening as well... the big one being that I am moving from Northern CA over to Denton, TX. I can't tell you how exciting this move is, it's going to be fantastic! Now, with a new record and a new move, the site will be taking on a big refresh here soon. Keep a look out for new photos, videos, tracks, etc. Good things are coming, stay tuned!

New Live Video for New Track

ABOUT THE VIDEO

This is a brand new video we did with our talented friend JD Hudson at Whiskey Hound Studios. It's an idea that I had last year that I never got around to doing until being re-inspired recently by NPR's Tiny Desk Contest being putting on with Lagunitas Brewing Co. It seemed like an absolutely perfect fit for this concept, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. The idea is that my character is a bit of an instigator, a figment of the band's imagination, pushing them to want to break out into song in the middle of their boring work day. We did it all live in a single shot fashion, using real life office instruments including: paper, staplers, paper clips, pens, rulers, stamps, computer keyboards, coffee mugs, and of course our tiny desks. Enjoy!

ABOUT THE SONG

This song is called "Control" and is one of our favorites from our upcoming 2015 album "Memos". I don't want to give away too much with this new record, but I'm happy to say that we are heading up to Portland, OR this Thursday to start tracking. Please stay tuned for updates, pictures, and snips! Cheers!

Recording A New Record

It's that time of year, yes, the time where we throw all of our thoughts, blips and blurbs, onto the table to record yet another album. I'm thrilled to say we are officially in the studio working on pre-production demos for our upcoming release appropriately titled, "Memos". There is a ton of excitement around this record, not only because the songs are meaningful and real, but also because of the many people that will be helping put it together. Along with myself and my very talented band mates, the brilliant Brian Hall will be acting as producer and head of arrangements. Brian is a specialist when it comes to orchestral composition and is known mostly for his amazing work scoring film and video. That being said, this is a very different record than our latest rock and roll effort, "Californian"; you can expect every song to be musically intricate and intriguing- a unique blend of fresh sounds with retro soul, and an entirely timeless approach. Keep an eye out for photos, videos, and updates as we venture off into our creative world. Cheers, and Happy Holidays my friends!

Top 25 Songs of All Time

I'm writing a new record right now that I'm very excited about. This is the one I've been wanting to write for a while but has somehow been pushed to the side again and again. I think its the best stuff I've ever done, and in honor of trying to make some unforgetable tracks of my own I thought it would be fun to try to tap into my favorite songs of all time.

This was no easy task. It started with 100, then down to 80, and so on. If I'm being perfectly honest, I probably could have picked most of the songs by just using The Beach Boys, The Beatles, and Neil Young. BUT, I wanted to push myself to think a little more than that. So, without further ado, here are my favorite songs of all time based on: favorite bands, favorite albums, catchy pop tunes, good vibes, emotional connections, and overall writer's envy. I feel like I'm missing some good tracks here, and will most likely want to make changes 2 weeks from now. That being said, let the arguments begin!
